SIRIUS solid-state overload relay, CLASS 10E, contactor-mount
The Siemens 3RB2016-1PD0 is a SIRIUS solid-state overload relay with a CLASS 10E trip characteristic, designed for three-phase motor protection in a 3-pole main current circuit. It mounts directly onto a contactor, saving DIN-rail space and simplifying the motor-starter assembly. Main circuit connections use screw-type terminals accepting 2x (0.25... 1.5 mm²) solid or finely stranded with core-end processing, or 2x (18... 14) AWG. Auxiliary and control circuits use spring-loaded terminals for 2x (24... 16) AWG — no tool needed for the control wiring, which speeds panel assembly. The relay carries ATEX certification PTB 06 ATEX 3001 Ex II (2) GD, permitting installation in Zone 2 gas and Zone 22 dust atmospheres when paired with an appropriate contactor and enclosure. Shock resistance is rated at 15g / 11 ms, and surge voltage withstand is 6 kV. EMC immunity includes 2 kV burst on power ports and 1 kV on signal ports per IEC 61000-4-4, severity level 3.
Mounting position is any, giving flexibility in dense panels. The 45 mm width and 64 mm height with 73 mm depth match the standard SIRIUS contactor footprint. Clearances: 0 mm upwards, 0 mm forwards, 0 mm backwards, 0 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the side — so it can be stacked directly against adjacent devices on the same contactor, with only 6 mm side gap needed for heat dissipation.
