The Siemens 3RB2046-1EB0 is a SIRIUS solid-state overload relay — the part that sits between your contactor and motor, watching current and tripping on overload before the winding gets cooked. That's the standard speed for most general-purpose motor starts — fast enough to protect, slow enough to let an induction motor get up to speed. That saves panel space, but it also means you pick your contactor first, then this relay clips onto it.
Depth is 124 mm, width 70 mm, height 106 mm. Solid conductor range for main circuit is 0.5 to 4 mm². The auxiliary contact ratings are given at several voltages — for instance, 2 A at 24 V, 4 A at 120 V, 3 A at 230 V. That's the switching capacity of the built-in signal contact, so if you're feeding a PLC input at 24 V, you've got 2 A to work with — plenty for a typical digital input card. At 230 V it drops to 3 A, which is still fine for a contactor coil or indicator lamp.
This relay carries ATEX approval PTB 06 ATEX 3001 Ex II (2) GD. The 100 % relative humidity rating during operation means it can handle condensing environments — think washdown areas or outdoor cabinets in humid climates, as long as the enclosure keeps direct water off it. Shock resistance is 15 g for 11 ms, so it's fine for mounting on a machine frame that sees vibration.
