Solid-state overload relay for motor protection
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RB2056-2FC2-ZX95 is a solid-state overload relay sized S6, rated for 200 A operational current at AC-3e duty up to 1000 V. The CLASS 20E trip class means it allows a 20-second cold start at 7.2× rated current — the standard for standard-duty motor starting where the load accelerates within that window. It provides electronic overload protection with an integrated auxiliary switch that outputs a "tripped" message on fault, giving the control system a clean status signal without needing a separate contact block. Mounting is flexible: it fastens directly to a contactor or stands alone on the panel plate. The main circuit connects via M8 busbar connections, and the control wiring accepts 1x (0.5–4 mm²) or 2x (0.5–2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire. The auxiliary contact ratings cover common control voltages: 2 A at 24 V, 4 A at 120 V, 3 A at 230 V, so it drives a PLC input or relay coil directly.
Temperature compensation is active across the operating range. Shock resistance is 15g / 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27; vibration resistance is 1–6 Hz at 15 mm, 6–500 Hz at 20 m/s² for 10 cycles. The substance prohibition date of 07/01/2006 aligns with RoHS compliance — the part was designed to meet the EU RoHS directive from that date forward.
