Function & operation
The 3RB2956-2TG2 is a current transformer that provides a scaled-down current signal to the 3RB22/23/24 overload relay for motor protection. Its straight-through design means the main circuit conductors pass directly through the transformer window — no primary winding connections needed. This simplifies wiring and reduces installation time on a panel or contactor assembly. Rated for 20-200 A, the transformer covers a practical range for medium-horsepower motors. The auxiliary circuit is listed as not present, so the transformer outputs directly to the relay without additional terminals. Mounting is either on the contactor (for compact builds) or stand-alone (for retrofit or remote sensing).
