The Siemens 3RB3016-1NB0 is a SIRIUS solid-state overload relay in size S00, designed for motor protection in control panels.
Mounting and integration — fits a contactor, not a DIN rail alone
This relay mounts directly onto a contactor (fastening method: contactor mounting), not as a standalone DIN-rail device. Size S00 means it pairs with S00-frame contactors in the SIRIUS family. The 45 mm width and 79 mm height keep the footprint compact for dense panel layouts. Screw-type terminals for the main circuit accept 1x (0.5 to 4 mm²) solid or 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²) stranded — Pozidriv PZ 2 screwdriver tip, shaft diameter 5 to 6 mm.
Signaling contact ratings — what the tripped output can drive
The integrated signaling contact (the auxiliary switch that changes state on a trip event) is rated for switching various control voltages: 2 A at 24 V, 4 A at 120 V, 3 A at 230 V, and derated at higher DC voltages — 0.55 A at 60 V, 0.3 A at 125 V, 0.11 A at 220 V. These are the contact ratings for the "tripped" message output, not the main motor circuit. The per-pole power dissipation is 0.03 W, negligible for panel heat budgeting.
Storage and transport range is -40 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 15g / 11 ms (signaling contact in tripped position: 9g / 11 ms per IEC 60068-2-27). Vibration resistance: 1-6 Hz at 15 mm amplitude, 6-500 Hz at 20 m/s², 10 cycles. Substance prohibitance date (RoHS-like) is 10/01/2009 — the part complies with the EU RoHS directive effective from that date.
