CLASS 20E solid-state overload relay for motor circuits
The Siemens 3RB3026-2VE0 is a SIRIUS solid-state overload relay in size S0, designed for three-phase motor protection with an electronic overload release and CLASS 20E trip characteristic. Rated thermal current Ith is 32 A at 690 V rated insulation voltage, covering motor full-load currents up to that ceiling in AC-3e duty. CLASS 20E means the relay allows a 20-second cold start at 600% of the set current before tripping — the standard choice for normal-start motor loads like pumps, fans, and compressors where the acceleration time stays under 20 seconds.
Fastens directly to the contactor via the contactor mounting method, not a separate DIN-rail foot — the relay nests onto the matching SIRIUS contactor, saving panel width. Dimensions are 45 mm wide × 109 mm high × 85 mm deep. Mounting position is any, with vibration resistance tested to 1–6 Hz at 15 mm amplitude and 6–500 Hz at 20 m/s² for 10 cycles. Shock resistance is 15 g / 11 ms.
Auxiliary contact ratings and wiring
Main circuit terminals accept solid 2× (0.25–1.5 mm²) or stranded up to 1× 10 mm². The terminal design uses spring-loaded clamps with a Pozidriv PZ2 screwdriver tip and 5–6 mm shaft diameter. Power dissipation per pole is 1.5 W, so the three-pole total is 4.5 W conducted into the contactor base — factor this into the enclosure thermal budget.
Environmental limits and compliance
Storage and transport range is –40 to +80 °C. Substance prohibitance date is 10/01/2009, indicating RoHS compliance per the EU directive effective that date. The note "for message 'tripped'" refers to the signalling contact status indication.
