SIRIUS 3RF2310-1AA02 — Single-Phase Solid-State Contactor
The Siemens 3RF2310-1AA02 is a SIRIUS-brand single-phase solid-state contactor rated 10.5 A in AC-51 duty (resistive loads) and 9.6 A per UL 508. It switches via zero-point crossing, which minimizes inrush and EMI on resistive heater or lamp banks. Control voltage range is 24…230 V AC at 50/60 Hz, drawing 13 mA DC or 15 mA DC control current depending on the circuit.
The 10.5 A AC-51 rating covers resistive loads like heaters and incandescent lighting — the most common application for a solid-state contactor. The UL 508 figure of 9.6 A is the same duty under North American code, so a panel built to either standard lands within 10 % of each other. Zero-point switching means the thyristor turns on only when the AC waveform crosses zero, which limits the initial current surge to the load's steady-state value; this is critical for long-life switching of heater elements where thermal shock shortens element life. Minimum operational current is 100 mA — below that the thyristor may not latch cleanly. The I²t maximum of 200 A²·s governs fuse selection: a semiconductor fuse like the Siemens 3NA6803 NH type or 5SE2306 NEOZED is recommended to protect the thyristor against short-circuit faults. The 7 mm contact gap is the physical isolation when off, which meets the separation requirements for a contactor. Insulation voltage is 600 V. Derating begins at 40 °C.
The 22.5 mm width matches the footprint of a typical miniature circuit breaker, so it fits neatly in a 24-module DIN-rail row. Side-by-side mounting is allowed — no spacing required between units, which is typical for solid-state contactors that dissipate heat through the baseplate rather than convection gaps. Main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting solid wire 1x (0.5…2.5 mm²) or 2x (0.5…1.0 mm²), and solid or stranded 1.5…6 mm². AWG equivalents for main contacts are 2x (14…10). Auxiliary and control circuit terminals are also screw-type.
