What the 40 A AC-1 rating means for your load
The 3RF3340-1AA45 is a 1-pole SIRIUS 3RF33 solid-state contactor rated 40 A in AC-1 duty at 40 °C ambient. AC-1 covers resistive and slightly inductive loads — heaters, ovens, lighting banks — where the current waveform stays near sinusoidal and inrush is minimal. For motor loads (AC-3 duty), the same contactor derates significantly; the 40 A figure is not the motor-switching current.
Control voltage and termination
The control input accepts 4-30 V DC, covering 5 V logic, 12 V PLC outputs, and 24 V industrial supplies without a separate interface relay. Screw terminals on both power and control sides — no spring-cage tool needed, which matches the preference on panels where the wireman carries a Pozidriv, not a screwdriver with a slim blade.
