The Siemens 3RF3340-1BA26 is a 1-pole solid-state contactor from the SIRIUS 3RF33 family, rated for AC-15 duty at 20 A at 40 °C ambient. AC-15 is the switching category for electromagnetic loads — solenoids, contactor coils, clutches — where inrush can be several times the holding current. The 20 A figure at 40 °C means this contactor will switch a solenoid bank or a cluster of smaller contactor coils without derating at typical panel ambient. Above 40 °C, the thermal curve applies; in a 50 °C enclosure, expect to reduce the continuous current. The load voltage range spans 48-600 V AC, and the control supply is 110-230 V AC — a common industrial control voltage that matches most European and North American panel circuits without an intermediate transformer. Switching is instantaneous (zero-cross or random-switch, not soft-start), and termination is via screw terminals, which is the standard for panel wiring in most maintenance environments.
RoHS compliance is confirmed since 15 January 2024. Note the REACH Article 33 declaration: lead (CAS 7439-92-1) is present above 0.1% w/w. This is typical for leaded solder joints in the internal assembly and does not affect functional fit, but it must be declared for end-of-life recycling reporting in EU jurisdictions.
The packaging dimensions (105 x 27 x 122 mm) show a slim 27 mm width — one standard module — so it occupies a single position on the rail. Screw terminals accept typical control wiring (0.5-2.5 mm² solid or stranded). No special heatsinking is required for the 20 A AC-15 rating at 40 °C, but ensure free air circulation around the contactor body; stacking modules without a 10 mm air gap will reduce the effective continuous current.
