What the AC-15 rating means for your circuit

AC-15 is the IEC utilization category for switching electromagnetic loads — solenoids, contactor coils, and clutches — where inrush can reach 10× the sealed current. That 27.5 A figure is the continuous current the semiconductor can carry while switching those inductive peaks, not a resistive-heater rating.
