The 3RG41 43-6AD00: Rated sensing range of 65 mm places this in the medium-range inductive class — enough to detect ferrous targets through a non-metallic barrier or at a standoff from a moving conveyor side, but not for flush-mount into a steel panel (the housing is 80 x 100 mm, terminal-compartment style). PNP output with NO/NC selectable means it sinks current to the load when triggered; common for PLC inputs that expect a positive signal. Supply range 10-65 VDC covers 12 V and 24 V control loops without a separate regulator. Switching current 0.3 A is enough to drive a small relay or PLC input directly, but not a contactor coil without an interposing relay.
Terminal-compartment wiring
3-wire terminal compartment — no pigtail or M12 connector. The cable gland entry accepts panel wiring directly; strip and terminate inside the housing. For a retrofit into an existing line, this means pulling a new cable to the sensor location rather than plugging into a pre-wired drop. The compartment is sized for standard 1.5 mm² stranded; leave a service loop for future swaps.
