What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RH1122-1AK60-ZW98 is an auxiliary contactor in size S00, carrying two instantaneous normally-open contacts. It's designed to switch control signals and auxiliary loads in motor starter and contactor assemblies — think feedback to a PLC, status indication on an HMI, or interlocking a safety circuit. The S00 frame keeps it compact: 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm tall, 72 mm deep, so it fits the standard DIN-rail grid alongside a matching power contactor without stealing extra panel real estate.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts by screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail. The mounting position is flexible — ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward or backward, which helps when routing wires in a crowded enclosure. Terminals accept solid conductors: 2x 0.5–1.5 mm², 2x 0.75–2.5 mm², or 2x 4 mm². IP20 on the front means it's protected against finger contact but not washdown — keep it inside the panel, not on the machine frame.
Switching capacity and contact reliability
The contacts are rated for 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V — the voltage drop tells you this is a control-voltage device, not a power-switching contactor. For DC loads, it handles 1 A at 110 V and 0.27 A at 220 V. Mechanical endurance is listed at 30 million operations typical, and contact reliability is specified as one incorrect switching per 100 million operations at 17 V, 1 mA — a solid figure for dry-circuit PLC inputs that see milliamps.
