Part identity and function
The Siemens 3RH1122-1AV60 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor in the S00 frame size, designed for switching control and signal circuits rather than main motor loads. It carries 2 normally-open and 2 normally-closed instantaneous contacts. Rated operational current at AC-12 (resistive/control circuit duty) is 10 A, which covers most PLC input, relay coil, and signal lamp loads in a standard control panel. At 230 V the switching capacity drops to 6 A; at 400 V to 3 A — the AC-12 figure is the one that governs fit for a typical 24 VDC or 120 VAC control circuit.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a DIN rail. The S00 footprint — 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm tall, 72 mm deep — is the standard compact size that fits alongside S00 contactors and overload relays in a shared panel layout. Mounting position is flexible: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus +/-22.5° tilt forward or backward. Wire termination accepts solid conductors: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². AWG equivalents are 2x (20 to 16), 2x (18 to 14), and 1x 12. The spring-cage or screw terminals are sized for the auxiliary contact current range — no special lugging needed.
Environmental and electrical ratings
Operates from -25°C to +60°C ambient, with storage and transport range from -55°C to +80°C. IP20 on the front means it's protected against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm (fingers) but not against moisture ingress — suitable for enclosed panels, not washdown areas. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive) is typical for industrial control cabinets. Rated surge voltage resistance is 6 kV, which aligns with IEC 60947-1 overvoltage category III for 400 V systems. Shock resistance is 10g / 5 ms and 5g / 10 ms — sufficient for most industrial machinery but not for high-impact applications like forging presses.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The auxiliary contactor is designed to mount directly onto SIRIUS S00 contactors (3RT1 series) or be used as a standalone control relay. If you're replacing a 3RT1016-1AN22 or similar S00 power contactor and need the auxiliary block separately, this is the matching add-on. No rewiring of the control circuit is needed if the existing auxiliary contacts are in the same S00 footprint.
