What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RH1131-1AQ60 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor — a control-circuit switching block, not a main power contactor. It is built into the S00 frame size, which means it occupies the same 45 mm DIN-rail footprint as the smallest SIRIUS contactors and mates mechanically with them via the side-by-side coupling system. Rated for 10 A at 24 V, it handles the typical 24 VDC control loads found in PLC output circuits, relay coils, and indicator banks.
Contact configuration and ratings
This variant carries 3 normally open (NO) instantaneous contacts and zero normally closed (NC) contacts — a pure make-only block. The contact reliability specification states fewer than one incorrect switching operation per 100 million operations at 17 V and 1 mA, which is the gold standard for dry-circuit PLC inputs where oxide films on silver contacts cause intermittent faults. For inductive loads at higher voltages, the rated switching current tapers: 1 A at 110 V, 0.27 A at 220 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, 2 A at 500 V, and 1 A at 690 V. The 6 A at 230 V figure is notably higher than the 24 V rating because it is an AC resistive load rating; the 24 V figure is the DC continuous current limit.
Mechanical and environmental limits
Mechanical life is rated at 30 million operations typical — this is the wear-out figure for the mechanism, not the electrical endurance under load. Shock resistance is 10 g for 5 ms and 5 g for 10 ms, which is standard for industrial panel mounting and covers most vibration from contactors and breakers on the same rail. Operating temperature spans -25 °C to +60 °C; storage and transport extend to -55 °C to +80 °C. The front face carries IP20 protection, so it is safe for finger contact in an open panel but not for washdown environments. Pollution degree 3 means it is rated for conductive pollution (condensation, light dust) typical of industrial enclosures without climate control.
Mounting and wiring
Fastening is via screw and snap-on mounting — the screw secures it to the DIN rail, and the snap-on clip allows tool-less removal. Mounting position is flexible: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and +/-22.5° tilt forward or backward. The terminal block accepts solid conductors: 2x 0.5 to 1.5 mm², 2x 0.75 to 2.5 mm², or 2x 4 mm². Depth is 72 mm, height 57.5 mm, width 45 mm — a compact block that leaves room for a 4 mm² feed-through on a crowded rail.
