What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RH1131-1AU60 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor in the compact S00 frame — 45 mm wide, 72 mm deep, 57.5 mm tall. It's built for control-circuit switching: 10 A at AC-12 (resistive loads), with a rated surge voltage withstand of 6 kV, so it handles the transient environment inside a motor starter or PLC output cabinet without coupling noise back into the logic side. The 3RH1131-1AU60 is a 3-pole normally-open contactor (three instantaneous contacts, no leading or lagging delays). It's rated for 30 million mechanical cycles typical, and the contact reliability spec — one incorrect switching operation per 100 million at 17 V, 1 mA — means it'll switch dry PLC signals without stuttering.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto DIN rail, and the mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward or backward. That's useful when you're retrofitting into a crowded panel and the rail isn't perfectly square. Terminals accept solid conductors: 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm² per clamp. For AWG, that's 2x (20...16), 2x (18...14), or 1x 12. IP20 on the front face — finger-safe once installed, but not washdown-rated.
Environmental and compliance
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage and transport go from -55 to +80 °C. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive under condensation — typical for industrial control panels). Shock resistance: 10g for 5 ms and 5g for 10 ms. Substance prohibition date per RoHS is July 1, 2006.
