What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RH1131-2AV00 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor in size S00, designed for switching control and signaling circuits in industrial panels. It carries three instantaneous normally-open contacts and one normally-closed contact, rated 10 A at 24 V, with a surge voltage resistance of 6 kV. Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto a DIN rail, with the front face protected to IP20. The contactor can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted ±22.5° forward/backward, giving flexibility in tight enclosures. Rated for pollution degree 3 and operating temperatures from -25 to +60 °C, with storage down to -55 °C. Shock resistance is 10g / 5 ms and 5g / 10 ms.
Ratings and what they mean for fit
The 10 A at 24 V rating defines the continuous current each contact can carry in a control circuit — enough for pilot relays, PLC inputs, or solenoid valves. At 230 V the rating drops to 6 A, and at 690 V to 1 A, so derate accordingly for higher-voltage loads. Contact reliability is specified as one incorrect switching operation per 100 million operations at 17 V, 1 mA — critical for low-energy signals where oxide films can cause intermittent faults. The mechanical life is 30 million operations typical. The solid conductor capacity is 2x 0.25 to 2.5 mm² — standard for control wiring. Dimensions are 45 mm wide, 60 mm high, 73 mm deep, fitting the S00 footprint common in Siemens motor starter assemblies.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
Substance prohibitance per RoHS is dated 07/01/2006.
Integration notes
The auxiliary switch extension is supported — add a front-mount block if more contacts are needed. The contactor has no leading, lagging, or make-before-break switching, so all contacts are standard instantaneous. Spring-cage terminals accept solid or ferruled stranded 0.25–2.5 mm².
