What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RH1344-1BB40-0AA1 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor — a four-pole, 24 V DC-coil block that mirrors the state of a main contactor or provides isolated signal feedback in a control panel. The 4 NO (normally-open) instantaneous contacts switch load circuits up to 10 A at 24 V (AC-12), 6 A at 230 V, or 1 A at 690 V. Coil hold power is a constant 3.2 W DC, so the power supply budget is predictable — no inrush spike beyond the closing transient. Size S00 means it fits the standard 45 mm wide DIN-rail footprint — same envelope as the smallest SIRIUS contactors. Screw terminals accept up to 4 mm² solid or 2.5 mm² stranded, with dual-wire capability on each clamp. Snap-on mounting and a ±180° rotation range on vertical surfaces give flexibility in a crowded enclosure.
Ratings and what they mean for the panel
The AC-12 rating of 10 A is the resistive-load limit — use that for pilot duty or signal lamps. For inductive loads like contactor coils or small solenoids, derate to the AC-15 curve (not listed here, but standard practice). The 6 kV rated surge voltage (impulse withstand) means it can live on a 400 V panel without external MOVs for basic transient protection. Pollution degree 3 and IP20 front — fine for a standard IP54 or IP65 enclosure; the front is touch-safe, but the terminals need enclosure protection. Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C covers most indoor industrial environments. Shock resistance of 10g / 5 ms and 5g / 10 ms is adequate for machine-mounted panels, not for direct engine-mount.
