What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RH1344-2AG10 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor in size S00, carrying four normally-open instantaneous contacts. It's the signal-switching side of a motor starter — used to extend the control circuit, interlock a reversing pair, or feed status back to a PLC. The AC-12 maximum operating current of 10 A covers the typical control load: contactor coils, relays, and PLC inputs on 24 VDC or 110 VAC. The 6 kV surge voltage resistance means it handles the transients common on industrial control panels without external suppression in most cases.
Mounting and integration
Mounts by screw or snaps onto a DIN rail. The 45 mm width and 60 mm height are the S00 footprint — it occupies one standard 45 mm module on the rail, leaving room for the power contactor beside it. Depth of 114 mm means the coil terminals and auxiliary wiring project about 4.5 inches into the enclosure; plan the gland plate and wireway clearance accordingly. Wire termination accepts 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded — standard control wire sizes, no ferrule restriction. Mounting position is flexible: the contactor can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted forward or backward ±22.5°, which helps in tight retrofit panels where the rail is already populated.
Environmental and endurance
Rated for pollution degree 3 — the typical factory-floor environment with conductive dust or occasional condensation. IP20 on the front means finger-safe but not washdown-rated; keep it inside the enclosure. Operating temperature from -25 to +60 °C covers most indoor panels; storage range extends to -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 10g at 5 ms and 5g at 10 ms — adequate for machine-mounted panels near presses or conveyors. Mechanical endurance is 10 million operations typical, which for a contactor that only switches control loads (not motor current) translates to years of service in a normal cycle rate.
