What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RH1344-2BB40 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor — a 24 VDC-controlled, 4-NO switching block sized for Size S00 contactor systems. It screws or snaps onto a DIN rail, and its 45 mm width and 60 mm height let it tuck into tight panel rows without crowding adjacent devices. The IP20 front means it's protected against finger contact but expects to live inside an enclosure, not out in washdown.
What the ratings mean on the line
Rated 10 A at AC-12 (resistive loads at 24 V), and 1 A at 110 V or 0.27 A at 220 V — that's the switching capacity for its auxiliary contacts under different control voltages. The 4 NO contacts are instantaneous (no make-before-break or delayed switching), so it's a straight on/off relay block for signal-level or pilot-duty circuits. Coil holds at 24 VDC nominal, pulling 3.2 W to close and the same 3.2 W to hold — no inrush spike to stress a DC supply.
Panel integration notes
Mounts by screw or snap-on onto a standard DIN rail. The mounting position is flexible — it can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface, or tilted forward/backward ±22.5° on a vertical mount. That covers most cabinet layouts without needing a special bracket. Depth is 114 mm, which fits standard 120 mm deep enclosures. Wire termination accepts 2x (0.25 … 2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.25 … 1.5 mm²) fine-stranded with ferrules — standard for control wiring.
Environmental and compliance
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, storage and transport from -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 10g / 5 ms and 5g / 10 ms — robust enough for industrial panels on conveyors or machine tools. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for conductive pollution environments (typical in factory floors). Surge voltage withstand is 6 kV, covering common transient events in industrial mains.
