What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RH1380-2AF00 is an auxiliary contactor in the S00 frame size, carrying 8 instantaneous normally-open contacts. It's designed to extend the control-circuit switching capacity of a main contactor or to build interlock logic in a panel — no coil suppression or timing circuits inside, just eight independent N/O poles rated 10 A at 24 V. Mounts via screw or snap-on to a DIN rail, and the mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when you're squeezing it into a crowded gland-plate area. Front face carries IP20 protection; side clearance is zero mm, so it can sit tight against adjacent devices.
Ratings that matter for fit
Eight instantaneous N/O contacts with no delayed, leading, or lagging switching — every pole closes at the same time. That's a straight signal-repeater or load-switching block, not a sequenced make-before-break device. The 10 A AC-12 maximum at 24 V is the resistive-load ceiling; at 230 V the rating drops to 6 A, and at 690 V it's 1 A. If you're switching a 24 VDC PLC output bank, the 10 A figure gives you comfortable headroom for a dozen small solenoids. Solid wire capacity is 2x 0.25 to 2.5 mm² per terminal — standard for S00 auxiliary blocks, but worth noting if your panel uses 4 mm² control wiring. The depth of 114 mm is the dimension that usually determines whether it fits a shallow enclosure; width is 45 mm, height 60 mm.
Where it goes in the panel
Size S00 is the smallest Siemens contactor frame — it fits alongside S00 main contactors like the 3RT2 series on the same DIN rail. The 8 N/O contacts can be wired as a mirror block for a reversing starter interlock or as a signal multiplier feeding multiple PLC inputs. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 10g / 5 ms and 5g / 10 ms — fine for most industrial panels, but check if your application sees repetitive high-G vibration.
