What this part is and what it does
The Siemens 3RH1431-1BE40 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor in size S00, carrying three normally open instantaneous contacts and a 60 V DC coil. It is rated for 10 A at 24 V and 10 A in AC-12 duty, with a contact reliability of one incorrect switching operation per 100 million operations at 17 V, 1 mA. The coil draws 3.2 W DC for both closing and holding, so the control transformer or PLC output driving it must supply that continuously — no separate hold-in reduction.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a DIN rail; the size S00 footprint is 90 mm wide by 57.5 mm high by 72 mm deep. The mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward or backward, which helps when routing wires in a crowded panel. Accepts solid conductors from 0.5 mm² up to 4 mm² per terminal (two conductors per size range). Front protection is IP20 — suitable for enclosed panels but not for washdown areas.
Duty and environmental ratings
Rated for pollution degree 3 (industrial environments with conductive pollution). Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage and transport range is -55 to +80 °C. Shock resistance is 10g for 5 ms and 5g for 10 ms. Surge voltage withstand is 6 kV. The typical mechanical life is 5 million operations.
Current ratings across voltages
The contact ratings vary by voltage: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, 2 A at 500 V, 1 A at 690 V, and 1 A at 110 V, with 0.27 A at 220 V. These are the make/break capacities for the auxiliary contacts — derate accordingly when switching multiple loads or at elevated ambient temperatures.
