What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RH1911-2FA31-0MC0 is a front-mounted auxiliary switch block from the SIRIUS family, designed to snap onto 3RT101..-.K...-0LA0 power contactors. It provides 3 normally-open and 1 normally-closed instantaneous contacts — labelled 53/54, 61/62, 73/74 (NO) and 83/84 (NC) — giving you four auxiliary signal paths off a single contactor. Rated for 10 A maximum, the switching capacity varies by voltage: 6 A at 24 V, 230 V, and 250 V; 3 A at 400 V; 2 A at 60 V; 1 A at 110 V; and 0.3 A at 220 V. For AC-15 duty at 690 V it's rated 1 A, and the DC ratings follow a similar derating curve — 10 A at 24 V DC, stepping down to 0.26 A at 600 V DC. The 6 kV surge voltage resistance and 690 V insulation voltage at pollution degree 3 mean this block is built for industrial control panels where transient isolation between circuits matters.
Integration and mounting
Snap-on mounting onto the contactor front — no DIN rail footprint consumed beyond the base contactor itself. The block measures 46 mm deep, 36.5 mm wide, and 37.5 mm tall, adding minimal projection beyond the contactor face. Spring-loaded terminals accept 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) with core-end processing or 2x (0.5... 2.5 mm²) without; AWG equivalents are 2x (20... 14). IP20 on the front means it's protected against finger contact but not washdown — standard for enclosed panel mounting. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage from -55 to +80 °C. Mechanical life is rated at 10 million switching cycles typical, with contact reliability of 1 faulty switching per 100 million operations at 17 V, 1 mA — a figure that matters when you're using the NC contact for a safety feedback path that must be fail-safe.
