What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RH2122-1VB40-1AA0 is a Size S00 coupling contactor relay with 2 normally-open and 2 normally-closed contacts, a 24 V DC coil, and an integrated suppression diode. The 0.85...1.85* US operating range means the coil picks up reliably at 20.4 V DC and holds in through a 44.4 V DC surge — useful for control circuits with long cable runs or shared DC supplies where voltage drop is a concern. The integrated diode handles the inductive kickback on coil de-energization, so you don't need an external flyback diode across the coil terminals.
Panel integration
Size S00 footprint mounts on DIN rail in a control panel. The screw terminal design accepts up to 2.5 mm² stranded or solid wire, and the upright mounting position is the standard orientation for the SIRIUS S00 contactor/relay family. The integrated diode means no extra wiring for coil suppression — one less component to fit in the trough.
