What this auxiliary contactor does in the panel

The built-in varistor surge suppressor handles coil suppression without an external diode, simplifying wiring in the panel.
This auxiliary contactor is specified for DC switching across a range of voltages, not just a single rating. At 24 V rated value it handles 10 A; at 60 V rated value 4.7 A; at 110 V rated value 3 A; at 220 V rated value 1.2 A; at 440 V rated value 0.5 A; at 600 V rated value 0.26 A. These are the maximum continuous currents the contacts can make and break at those DC voltages — important because DC arcs are harder to extinguish than AC, so the current capability drops as voltage rises. For 220 V DC applications, the 1.2 A rating is the limit; do not exceed it.
