What the 3RH2440-1AP60 is and what it carries
The Siemens 3RH2440-1AP60 is a SIRIUS auxiliary contactor — a switching block that extends the control-circuit capacity of a main contactor or handles standalone signal switching in a panel. It packs four normally-open instantaneous contacts in frame size S00, which is the smallest SIRIUS frame, so it fits tight DIN-rail layouts where every millimeter counts. That spread means the same part covers 24 VDC control circuits, 230 V lighting loads, and 400–600 V motor control circuits — a genuine fast mover for MRO stockrooms that support mixed-voltage panels.
Panel fit and clearances
That side clearance is tighter than the vertical gaps, so watch the gland-plate fill factor when laying out a row of these.
Contact ratings and switching capability
The four NO contacts are rated for AC-15 and DC-13 loads typical of contactor coils, solenoid valves, and signal lamps. At 24 V the contact carries 10 A; at 60 V it's 4.7 A; at 110 V it's 3 A; at 220–230 V it's 1.2–10 A depending on the circuit. The 230 V 10 A rating matches the full thermal current (Ith) of the contact block — useful for resistive heating loads or control transformers. That 600 V rating is the one to check if you're switching a 600 V control transformer — the contact can handle the inrush, but the continuous current limit is tight. That's a solid baseline for a panel that sees a few cycles per hour; for high-frequency switching (10,000 operations per hour DC), the electrical life will be lower and contact maintenance intervals shorter.
Environmental and compliance specs
Relative humidity minimum is 10 %. RoHS compliance date is October 1, 2009 — the part meets the EU RoHS directive for lead and other restricted substances. That's the standard for most industrial panels shipping into Europe or following global OEM specs.
That covers most control-circuit wiring from 18 AWG to 12 AWG. No special crimp tools needed — standard screwdriver termination.
