Active production — what that means for your BOM
The 3RH7140-1AV00 is a size S00 contactor relay with 4 NO auxiliary contacts (identification 40 E).
Panel fit and wiring — DIN-rail snap-on with screw terminals
Auxiliary and control circuits terminate with screw-type terminals. Finely stranded wire with core-end processing also fits the same ranges.
The AC coil draws 27 VA apparent power at pick-up and 5.4 VA holding, with inductive power factors of 0.8 and 0.27 respectively. The holding VA is low enough that a typical 24 V AC control transformer can run several of these relays without exceeding its rating — but the pick-up surge matters if you are energising multiple coils simultaneously. Auxiliary contacts are rated for PLC-level reliability: 17 V, 5 mA minimum switching capability. That means they can switch low-energy signals from a PLC input directly without needing an interposing relay — a detail that saves a component and a wiring step when the control voltage is 24 V DC.
