The Siemens 3RK1200-0CE03-0AA2 is an AS-Interface counter module from the SIRIUS family, designed as a standard slave with ID code F. It provides one digital counter input (PNP) in a 22.5 mm wide housing, making it a compact addition to an AS-i bus segment for counting pulses from sensors, encoders, or limit switches on a conveyor or machine cycle.
The module measures 22.5 mm wide by 102 mm high by 86 mm deep, fitting a standard 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 or wall-mounting via the integral lugs. At 22.5 mm, it occupies one single-width slot — useful when panel density is tight and you need to add a counter without expanding the enclosure. The screw-type terminals accept field wiring directly — no special tooling needed for the sensor and AS-i connections.
Electrical interface and diagnostics
The AS-Interface bus supplies both power and data. Operating voltage per the AS-i specification is 26.5... 31.6 V; the module draws up to 170 mA from the bus total current. The sensor supply for the input is short-circuit and overload resistant, rated at 90 mA at 40 °C ambient — enough for a standard inductive proximity or photoelectric sensor. Input voltage range is 20... 30 V, with a switching threshold: low max 5 V, high min 10 V. Signal current at state 1 minimum is 10 mA; at state 0 maximum is 2 mA. The input is PNP. Pin assignment: terminal 7 = +, terminal 9 = -, terminal 8 = IN1. Status indication uses a bicolor LED on the AS-Interface: green on + red off = normal operation; green off + red on = no data traffic; green flashing + red on = zero address; green off + red flashing = sensor overload. This lets a field tech diagnose a missing slave or a shorted sensor without a bus monitor.
Environmental limits
The operating range covers most indoor industrial enclosures; the storage range accommodates warehouse extremes without issue.
