The Siemens 3RK1200-0CQ00-0AA3 is a K60 compact digital input module designed for field installation — IP67 rated, so it lives directly on the machine or conveyor line, not inside a remote cabinet. It brings four PNP inputs back to the controller via a standard AS-Interface or similar fieldbus connection (the addressing socket is front-accessible). No digital outputs on this variant; it's pure input sensing. Snaps onto standard DIN rail or mounts to a wall plate using the K60 mounting plate. At 60 mm wide by 152 mm tall and 29 mm deep, it squeezes into tight spaces — useful when retrofitting sensors onto an existing line without rebuilding the panel.
Each input is PNP (sourcing) and expects a 20–30 V sensor supply on PIN 1 (L+), with common return on PIN 3 (L-). The module detects a "1" signal at ≥6 mA and a "0" at ≤1.5 mA — standard for industrial 3-wire proximity sensors and photoelectric eyes. If your sensors are NPN or you're running a 10 V sensor bus, this module won't work without level shifting. IP67 means the housing and M12 sockets handle washdown — suitable for food processing, automotive paint lines, or any area where hoses are used.
Wiring and addressing notes
The module has four M12 sockets. Socket 1 maps PIN 4 to IN1 (D0) and PIN 2 to IN2 (D1). Socket 2 uses PIN 4 for IN2 (D1). Socket 3 maps PIN 4 to IN3 (D2) and PIN 2 to IN4 (D3). Socket 4 uses PIN 4 for IN4 (D3). Sockets 5 through 8 are unassigned (closed). The ground terminal (PIN 5 of each M12) connects through the mounting plate to the grounding wrist strap — important for EMC in high-noise environments. Addressing is done via the front socket; the ID/ID2 code is set to 1/F. No watchdog is required. Yellow LEDs on each input give a quick visual on signal state — useful when fault-finding on site without a laptop.
