Overview
The 3RK1205-0BQ24-0AA3 is a Siemens ASIsafe compact module K45F LS Type 4 (light sensor) for testing semiconductor outputs, with 2 electronic inputs and sensor supply drawn from the AS-i bus. Rated for 31.5 V DC supply and IP67, it mounts on standard rail or wall using a separate mounting plate (3RK1901-2EA00 or 3RK1901-2DA00, ordered separately).
Function & operation
This module has two electronic inputs for light-sensor signals, with sensor supply from the AS-i loop. The semiconductor output test function checks the switching element on the output side; the module reports status via green/red and yellow LEDs on the front addressing socket. Maximum current carrying capacity on the sensor supply is 200 mA, enough for a single light sensor or a small photoelectric pair.
Applications
The K45F LS Type 4 is used in AS-i safety networks where a light sensor must be integrated into the safe I/O loop — common on packaging lines, conveyor gates, and press guarding where the sensor detects presence through a light curtain or retro-reflective beam. IP67 rating allows placement directly on the machine frame or in wet washdown zones without an enclosure.
