Siemens 3RK1300-0AS10-0AA4 — Electronic Direct Starter for ET 200X
The Siemens 3RK1300-0AS10-0AA4 is an electronic direct starter from the SIRIUS EM 300 EDS family, designed for the ET 200X distributed I/O system. It provides solid-state motor protection and switching for three-phase motors in the 0.18 to 0.8 kW range at AC-3 duty, 400 V. The adjustable setting range of 0.6 to 2.18 A lets you match the overload threshold to the motor nameplate current without swapping a heater element — a commissioning convenience over thermal overloads.
The AC-3 rating of 0.8 kW at 400 V defines the maximum induction motor it can start and stop under load — typical for small conveyors, pumps, and fans. The 0.18 kW minimum covers the smallest fractional-horsepower motors in the line. The 0.6 to 2.18 A setting range is the adjustable full-load current window; you set it via the integrated potentiometer to match the motor's FLA. The solid-state switching contact means no mechanical wear on the main poles, so the electrical life is essentially determined by the semiconductor junction temperature, not contact erosion.
IP65 and Distributed Deployment
This starter is built for on-machine mounting in washdown areas — food processing, packaging, automotive body shops — where a central panel isn't practical. The 9-pole power connection uses tab terminals for quick wiring. The integrated brake contact (DC 500 V / 1 A) controls a holding brake directly, eliminating a separate relay for vertical-load applications.
PROFIBUS DP and Bus Communication
Built-in PROFIBUS DP communication (yes on the protocol) lets the starter exchange status, diagnostics, and control commands directly with a PLC over the fieldbus — no separate gateway or I/O block needed. Ambient temperature range of 0 to 55 °C suits most factory-floor environments without derating.
