Solid-state reversing starter for distributed motor control
The Siemens 3RK1300-0BS10-1AA4 is an electronic reversing starter from the SIRIUS family, designed for the ET 200X distributed I/O system. It provides solid-state motor reversal and protection for three-phase motors in the 0.75 to 2.2 kW range at 400 V AC-3 duty, with a setting range of 2.0 to 5.95 A. Rated for an operating voltage of 400 to 500 V, it switches motor loads up to 2.2 kW at 400 V AC-3 — the standard rating for squirrel-cage induction motors. The solid-state switching contact means no mechanical wear on reversal cycles, which matters for applications with frequent direction changes like conveyors or positioning tables. The IP65 enclosure lets this unit mount directly on the machine frame or in washdown zones without a separate cabinet — common on packaging lines, food processing equipment, and material handling systems where hose-down cleaning is routine.
PROFIBUS DP and integrated brake output
Onboard PROFIBUS DP protocol (no AS-interface) means this starter communicates directly with a PROFIBUS master over the ET 200X backplane — no extra gateway or coupler module needed. The bus connection carries control commands and feedback, so the reversing logic lives in the PLC, not in hardwired contactors. A motor brake output is integrated, rated DC 500 V / 1 A. That covers the holding brake on most small servo and induction motors with spring-applied brakes. The brake output switches separately from the motor phases, so the brake releases before the motor accelerates and engages after the motor stops — no external brake rectifier or interposing relay required. Short-circuit protection is by fuse (not a built-in breaker), with a maximum breaking capacity of 100 A at 400 V. The main circuit connects via tab terminals — expect to use fast-on connectors rather than screw clamps. Ambient operating range is 0 to 55 °C, so it's fine inside a non-conditioned enclosure but not for freezer or outdoor direct-sun applications.
Panel fit and dimensions
At 134 mm deep, 140 mm wide, and 270 mm tall, this unit is sized for DIN-rail mounting inside an ET 200X enclosure or directly on a machine sub-panel. The 140 mm width is the same as the standard ET 200X power module footprint, so it aligns on the same DIN rail without overhang. Depth of 134 mm means it fits a 200 mm deep enclosure with room for wiring behind the rail.
