The Siemens 3RK1300-0GS01-0AA3 is an EM 300 DS direct starter from the SIRIUS family, designed for the ET 200X distributed I/O system. It is an electromechanical direct starter with a bimetal motor protection element, setting range 0.45...0.63 A, rated for AC-3 duty at 0.18 kW at 400 V (operating voltage 400...500 V). The IP65 enclosure means it withstands washdown and dusty environments — suitable for standalone mounting on machine frames or in wet-area panels without an additional enclosure.
PROFIBUS DP and brake integration
This starter includes bus communication via PROFIBUS DP, so it connects directly to the ET 200X backplane and participates in cyclic I/O data exchange without a separate gateway. The integrated motor brake output (product component motor brake output) supplies an internally fed brake through the 9-pole motor feeder and 9-pole power connection — a single cable run from the starter to the motor handles both power and brake control, saving a separate brake rectifier and reducing wiring in the field.
Short-circuit protection and breaking capacity
The short-circuit protection design uses circuit-breakers (not fuses), and the maximum short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) at 400 V is rated at 50 A. That figure governs the upstream protective device selection — the starter itself can interrupt a fault up to 50 A at 400 V, so the branch circuit must be coordinated to keep let-through energy within that limit. Operating temperature range is 0...55 °C; above that, derate the thermal setting.
