What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RK1300-0GS01-1AA0 is an electromechanical reversing starter from the EM 300 RS series, designed for the ET 200 X distributed I/O system. It provides forward/reverse motor control with bimetal overload protection, rated for 0.18 kW at 400 V in AC-3 duty — that is the motor-switching rating, so it handles small three-phase induction motors typical of conveyors, pumps, and valve actuators in a compact IP65 enclosure. The setting range is 0.45...0.63 A, set via the bimetal relay, and the unit is fed from a 400...500 V supply. The short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) is 50 A at 400 V, meaning the integrated circuit-breaker can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without upstream damage — a key coordination figure for the panel designer. Communication is via PROFIBUS DP. The main current circuit connects via tab terminals.
Where it fits
This reversing starter is a drop-in module for the ET 200 X remote I/O station — it mounts directly on the backplane, not on a DIN rail. The IP65 rating means the entire assembly (enclosure and optics) withstands washdown and dust ingress, so it suits food-and-bev, packaging, and material-handling lines where the I/O station is mounted near the machine rather than in a central cabinet. Dimensions are 140 mm wide, 270 mm high, and 134 mm deep. Ambient operating range is 0...55 °C.
