What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RK1300-0HS01-1AA4 is an electromechanical reversing starter from the SIRIUS family, designed for the ET 200X distributed I/O system. It integrates a reversing contactor with bimetal overload protection, a motor brake output, and PROFIBUS DP communication into a single IP65 enclosure. Rated at 0.21 kW in AC-3 duty at 400 V, with a setting range of 0.55...0.8 A, it handles small reversing motor loads — conveyors, door actuators, or pump direction changes — where space and wiring need to be minimized. The 50 A Icu at 400 V means it can clear a short-circuit fault up to that level without upstream coordination issues.
Where it fits
This is a panel-mount unit with tab terminals for the main current circuit, sized at 140 mm wide, 270 mm tall, and 134 mm deep. It bolts into the ET 200X system — the footprint matches the IP65-rated distributed enclosure family, not a standard DIN-rail contactor. If you're swapping from a conventional reversing contactor like the 3RT5065-6AB36, expect to rework the mounting plate and wiring: the 3RK1300-0HS01-1AA4 uses tab terminals, not screw terminals, and the 9-pole motor feeder and power connection are specific to the ET 200X backplane. The IP65 rating means the entire assembly — contacts, overload, and electronics — is sealed against dust and low-pressure water jets. This part lives directly on the machine frame or in a washdown zone, not inside a climate-controlled cabinet. Keep the ambient between 0 and 55 °C; the bimetal overload is thermal, so mounting near a heat source will shift the trip curve.
