Reversing starter for ET 200X — what the ratings mean on the line
The Siemens 3RK1300-1ES01-1AA0 is an electromechanical reversing starter from the SIRIUS EM 300 RS family, designed specifically for the ET 200X distributed I/O system. It integrates a reversing contactor pair and a bimetal overload relay in a single IP65 enclosure, so it mounts directly on the machine frame or conveyor section — no separate panel enclosure needed for the motor branch. Rated 1.5 kW at AC-3 duty on a 400 V supply, with a setting range of 2.8 to 4.0 A on the bimetal overload. That setting range governs the motor full-load current it protects: set the dial to match the motor nameplate FLA, and the bimetal element tracks the thermal load. The 4 A full-scale value means this unit covers small motors — think fractional-horsepower conveyor drives, small pumps, or actuator motors up to roughly 2 hp at 400 V three-phase. Operating voltage is 400 to 500 V AC, three-phase. The 50 A maximum short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) at 400 V means the integrated circuit-breaker can safely interrupt a fault up to that level.
Fieldbus and integration — PROFIBUS DP, no brake contact
Built-in PROFIBUS DP communication means this reversing starter connects directly to the ET 200X backplane bus — no separate gateway or I/O block needed for start/stop and direction commands. The 9-pole motor feeder and 9-pole power connection handle the motor cable and control wiring through tab terminals, which is the standard ET 200X interface. No AS-Interface on this variant. Note: this unit has no motor brake output. If the driven load requires a holding brake (vertical axis, gate, or conveyor stop), you will need a separate brake control module or a different variant with the brake contact option. Dimensions are 134 mm deep, 140 mm wide, 270 mm high. The IP65 enclosure withstands washdown and dust ingress — suitable for food-and-bev lines, packaging cells, or any area where hose-down cleaning is routine. Ambient operating range is 0 to 55 °C.
