Reversing starter with adjustable trip class
The 3RK1301-0CB10-1AB4: This is a reversing starter — it switches motor direction without an external contactor pair, saving panel space and wiring. Trip class is selectable among CLASS 5, 10, 15, and 20, so the same module covers fast-acting protection for short-cycle loads (CLASS 5) and slower starts for high-inertia fans or conveyors (CLASS 20). Short-circuit breaking capacity at 400 V is 50 kA — that level means the starter can clear a fault without upstream fuse coordination in most industrial panels.
Fieldbus and I/O architecture
Dual-protocol support for PROFINET and PROFIBUS DP means the module drops into either an S7-1500 or legacy S7-300/400 network without a gateway. It carries 2 digital inputs and 2 bytes each of input and output process data — enough for a reversing starter with feedback and a few auxiliary signals.
Shock rated at 5g for 11 ms and vibration at 2g — these values meet the typical IEC 60068-2-6 profile for industrial cabinet installation. Degree of pollution is 3 at 400 V and 2 at 500 V per IEC 60664, so in a standard factory environment (pollution degree 2) the 500 V rating applies; at 400 V the module tolerates the higher pollution level typical of unsealed panels.
Main energy infeed uses screw-type terminals; power transmission to downstream modules goes through the energy bus, so the entire string shares a single feed point.
