Overview
The 3RK1305-0AS01-0AA0 is a Siemens SIRIUS M200D communication module for PROFIBUS DP, designed to connect M200D motor starters to a PROFIBUS DP fieldbus network. It carries two M12 bus connectors with loop-through, two 7/8" power connectors for 24 V DC supply with loop-through, and an integrated bus terminating resistor that can be activated via a technology module 3RK1395. Rated IP65 with screw fixing, the module is built for distributed installation directly on the machine frame, and is officially classified as phase-out by Siemens with discontinuation scheduled for 2025-08-01.
Function & operation
This module acts as the PROFIBUS DP interface for a SIRIUS M200D motor starter cluster. The two M12 bus connectors allow a daisy-chain loop-through topology, simplifying cabling on long machine lines. The integrated bus terminating resistor, enabled through the optional 3RK1395 technology module, eliminates the need for a separate terminator at the end of the segment. Power is supplied at 24 V DC via two 7/8" connectors with loop-through, maintaining a single power feed for multiple starters. The module's shock rating of 12 g / 11 ms reflects its suitability for high-vibration environments such as conveyor systems and packaging machinery.
Applications
The M200D communication module is used in distributed motor control applications where individual motor starters are mounted near the driven equipment rather than in a central cabinet. Typical installations include automotive assembly lines, material handling systems, and packaging machines where PROFIBUS DP is the chosen fieldbus.
Lifecycle & availability
Siemens has classified the 3RK1305-0AS01-0AA0 as phase-out, with a formal discontinuation date of 2025-08-01. After this date, the module will no longer be manufactured or available through standard Siemens channels. Buyers with active BOMs or installed bases should evaluate last-time-buy quantities or identify a migration path to a current communication interface, such as a PROFINET variant in the M200D family.
