Fail-safe direct-on-line starter with integrated I/O
The Siemens 3RK1308-0CC00-0CP0 is a fail-safe direct-on-line starter packaged as a 4 via 3DI/LC module — meaning it combines four motor starter channels each with three digital inputs and a load circuit, all in a single 30 mm-wide base unit. It's a safety-rated motor starter, not just a contactor: the safe state is load circuit open, and the trip class is adjustable to CLASS OFF, 5, or 10. The ON-delay is 35 ms, OFF-delay 35 to 50 ms. The B10d value of 3,400,000 tells you the mechanical endurance for safety calculations.
Panel fit and fieldbus integration
This module plugs into a base unit — it's not DIN-rail mounted directly but snaps into a compatible Siemens base. The 30 mm width and 150 mm depth mean it occupies roughly the same footprint as a standard motor starter plus a small I/O slice, so plan for that in your panel layout. It speaks both PROFINET and PROFIBUS DP, so it drops into either a SIMATIC S7-1500 or an older S7-300/400 fieldbus architecture without a gateway. The input data is 4 bytes, output data 2 bytes. Vibration resistance is 15 mm at 6 Hz, 2 g to 500 Hz; shock resistance is 6 g for 11 ms.
