Reversing starter with AS-Interface and IP65 enclosure
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RK1315-6LS41-1AA3 is a reversing motor starter designed for direct-on-line reversing of three-phase motors up to 5.5 kW at 400 V (7.5 hp at 460/480 V, 10 hp at 575/600 V). The reversing contactor pair is integrated into a single IP65 enclosure, rated for washdown environments — suitable for conveyor reversals, hoist direction control, or any line where a motor must run forward and reverse under a single control signal. Trip Class 10 overload protection means the thermal model trips within 10 seconds at 7.2× rated current, matching standard IEC motor starting curves for pumps, fans, and light conveyors. The 4 onboard digital inputs (24 VDC, 20.4–28.8 V range) can take direct limit-switch or PLC signals without an extra I/O block.
AS-Interface communication and addressing
Communication is via AS-Interface protocol (no PROFIBUS or PROFINET onboard). Device addressing is done through the M12 plug — a standard AS-i addressing tool connects to the M12 service port. The starter is assigned to a single AS-i slave address (Type of Assignment 1). Supply voltage is 24 VDC nominal (20.4–28.8 V range, maximum permissible 31.6 V, minimum permissible 26.5 V for reliable operation). The main power circuit connects via a HAN Q4/2 plug per ISO 23570.
Mounting and environmental ratings
Mounting position is flexible — vertical, horizontal, or flat — with screw fixing. The recommended orientation is horizontal. Dimensions are 294 mm wide × 215 mm high × 159 mm deep. Vibration resistance is 7 mm / 2g; shock resistance is 12g / 11 ms. Operating temperature range is -25 to +55 °C; storage and transport range is -40 to +70 °C. Pollution degree 3 (industrial environment).
