The Siemens 3RK1322-0AS12-0AA3 is a SIRIUS AS-i compact starter — an electronic direct-on-line (DOL) motor starter with solid-state motor protection and solid-state switching contacts, all housed in an IP65-rated enclosure. It is designed for decentralized motor control in AS-interface networks, handling motors from 0.18 kW up to 0.8 kW at AC-3 duty on a 400 V supply.
The setting range of 0.6...2.18 A covers the full-load current of small motors in that power band; the solid-state overload protection eliminates thermal drift and resets automatically, which matters on unattended or remote lines. The IP65 rating allows direct mounting on the machine frame or conveyor section in washdown zones, without a separate enclosure.
This is a field-mount starter that communicates over AS-interface, so it drops onto an AS-i flat cable loop from the controller. It includes a motor brake output for internally supplied 400 V AC brakes — common on small hoists, palletizers, or indexing conveyors where the brake must release when the motor starts. Two integrated inputs allow local limit switches or E-stop buttons to be read directly over the AS-i bus, saving a separate I/O block.
