AS-i compact reversing starter for distributed motor control
The Siemens 3RK1322-0DS02-1AA3 is a SIRIUS AS-interface compact reversing starter — an electromechanical motor starter with integrated reversing contactors, bimetal overload protection, and bus communication, all in an IP65 enclosure rated for 0.09 kW at 400 V AC-3 (setting range 0.22...0.32 A). The IP65 rating means the enclosure and tab terminals withstand washdown environments — suitable for food-and-bev lines, conveyors, or packaging machinery where dust and hose-directed water are present. It communicates over AS-interface (AS-i) protocol, not PROFIBUS DP, so it drops directly onto an AS-i network without a gateway for the motor control segment. The 50 kA short-circuit breaking capacity at 400 V (Icu) means this starter safely interrupts faults up to that level without cascading upstream — a key figure for panel SCCR compliance under IEC 60947.
Motor brake output and wiring
A motor brake output is built in (product component Motor brake output = Yes), so the starter can directly control a holding brake on vertical-load motors without an external brake rectifier or contactor. Main current circuit connections use tab terminals (0.2–2.5 mm² typical), and the unit includes a 9-pole motor outgoing feeder and a 9-pole power connection with two integrated inputs — meaning the field wiring is a single multi-pole cable drop rather than individual wires to each contactor coil.
