AS-i compact reversing starter with integrated brake
The Siemens 3RK1322-0FS02-1AA3 is an AS-interface compact reversing starter in an IP65-rated enclosure, rated for 0.12 kW AC-3 motor duty at 400 V with a setting range of 0.35 to 0.5 A. The electromechanical switching contact and bimetal motor protection make it a self-contained motor branch for reversing applications on a conveyor, gate, or actuator — no separate overload relay or contactor assembly needed inside a cabinet. The 50 kA short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu at 400 V) means it safely clears a fault up to that level without upstream fuses needing to act, simplifying coordination on the line side.
AS-interface bus integration and motor brake output
This starter communicates via AS-interface protocol, with bus communication enabled and two integrated inputs for local sensors or pushbuttons. The built-in motor brake output (product component Motor brake output = Yes) handles a 400 V AC brake coil directly, eliminating an external brake rectifier or contactor for motors with spring-applied brakes — a common requirement on vertical-axis or holding applications. The main current circuit connects via tab terminals, so it's wired with quick-connects rather than screw clamps, which speeds replacement on a live line.
IP65 enclosure and ambient range
Rated IP65, the enclosure is sealed against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets — suitable for washdown zones, outdoor installations, or dusty environments where a panel-mounted starter would require a separate cabinet. The operating ambient temperature range of -25 to +55 °C covers most production floor conditions, including unheated warehouses or cold-store loading bays.
