AS-Interface compact direct starter for distributed motor control
The Siemens 3RK1322-1AS02-0AA4 is a SIRIUS AS-Interface compact starter — an electromechanical direct-on-line (DOL) motor starter in an IP65-rated enclosure, designed for distributed control cabinets or direct machine mounting where you need motor protection, switching, and AS-i bus communication in one package. Its setting range of 1.1…1.6 A covers motors up to 0.55 kW at 400 V AC-3 duty, which is the standard rating for small conveyors, pumps, and fans on a 400 V three-phase line. The built-in bimetal overload relay provides motor protection; the short-circuit protection is handled by integrated circuit-breakers, and the unit includes a motor brake output rated for 500 V DC / 1 A. Communication runs on the AS-Interface protocol (no PROFIBUS DP), with two integrated inputs for local sensors or pushbuttons — typical for a field-mounted starter that needs to report status and accept start/stop commands over the AS-i bus.
IP65 enclosure and field-mount integration
Main current circuit connections use tab terminals; the 9-pole motor outgoing feeder and 9-pole power connection are pre-configured for quick plug-in wiring at the machine.
