AS-i compact reversing starter for IP65 washdown zones
The Siemens 3RK1322-1AS02-1AA4 is an AS-interface compact reversing starter rated for 0.55 kW at AC-3 duty on a 400 V line, with a bimetal overload setting range of 1.1 to 1.6 A. The IP65 enclosure means the entire starter — contacts, bimetal relay, and bus electronics — withstands washdown and dust ingress, so it mounts directly on a machine frame or conveyor section without a separate cabinet. It communicates over AS-interface (no PROFIBUS DP onboard), carries two integrated inputs, and includes a motor brake output rated for 500 V DC / 1 A — a detail that matters when specifying the holding brake on a vertical-axis motor.
SCCR and short-circuit coordination
The maximum short-circuit breaking capacity (Icu) at 400 V is 50 kA, which gives headroom for high-fault panels without cascading upstream breakers.
