The Siemens 3RK1322-1CS02-1AA0 is an AS-Interface compact reversing starter designed for distributed motor control in washdown or dusty environments. It integrates an electromechanical contactor with bimetal overload protection, short-circuit protection via circuit-breakers, and two integrated inputs — all in an IP65-rated enclosure ready for direct machine-mounting without a separate panel.
The setting range of 1.8 to 2.5 A means the bimetal overload relay is factory-set for that window; if your motor's FLA falls outside it, you need a different starter variant.
This is a reversing starter — it switches motor direction via two contactors mechanically interlocked, so no external reversing contactor or interlock wiring is needed. The 9-pole motor outgoing feeder and 9-pole power connection use tab terminals; expect to crimp fast-on connectors, not screw-clamp terminals. AS-Interface protocol is built in (no PROFIBUS DP option here), so it communicates over a two-wire AS-i cable carrying both power and data. The two integrated inputs can take limit switches or proximity sensors directly, reducing junction-box wiring. Mounts directly on the machine frame via the IP65 housing; no DIN rail required.
