AS-i Compact Starter for Distributed Motor Control
The Siemens 3RK1322-1DS02-0AA0 is an AS-interface compact starter — a direct-on-line (DOL) motor starter in an IP65 enclosure designed for distributed control architectures. The setting range of 2.2 to 3.2 A means the overload relay is factory-set for that window; you adjust the bimetal trip within it to match the motor full-load current. The IP65 protection class means the enclosure withstands hose-directed water and dust ingress — suitable for washdown zones in food processing, automotive assembly, or outdoor material handling where a central panel isn't practical. The electromechanical switching contact and bimetal motor protection are field-proven technology; no firmware to corrupt, no configuration to lose on power cycle.
Fieldbus Integration and I/O
This starter communicates via AS-interface protocol, not PROFIBUS DP.
