Reversing starter for motor control in washdown zones
The Siemens 3RK1323-6DS74-3AA0 is a reversing starter with solid-state switching, designed for motor control applications requiring forward/reverse operation.
The operating voltage range of 400 to 500 V covers standard European 400 V three-phase networks and North American 480 V systems. Four digital inputs (M12 socketed) accept 24 V DC signals from limit switches or a PLC, and they're parameterizable, so you can reassign their function without rewiring. The full motor protection type means thermal overload and phase-loss detection are built in — no separate overload relay needed.
Integration into a motor control circuit
The 3RK1323-6DS74-3AA0 mounts via its IP65 housing directly on the machine or a mounting plate — no DIN rail required. Supply voltage is 24 V DC (20.4 to 28.8 V operating range, 31.6 V absolute max), drawn via AS-i shaped cables with cutting/clamping method. The load-side outgoing feeder uses a socket per ISO 23570, so the motor cable plugs in with a standardized connector. Communication also travels over the AS-i cable; there is no PROFINET or PROFIBUS DP onboard — the AS-i bus handles the control signals. Front addressing socket allows device configuration without opening the enclosure.
