SIRIUS direct starter with AS-Interface and IP65 enclosure
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RK1325-6LS41-2AA3 is a direct motor starter rated for 5.5 kW at 400 V and 7.5 hp at 460/480 V, with adjustable Trip Classes 5, 10, 15, and 20 to match motor thermal characteristics. The IP65-rated enclosure means it withstands washdown and dust ingress — suited for food-and-bev or wet-area panel mounting without an additional cabinet. Control power is 24 VDC (20.4–28.8 V range), with a maximum permissible voltage of 31.6 V. The unit includes four digital inputs and communicates via AS-Interface protocol through an M12 addressing plug — no PROFIBUS or PROFINET onboard, so keep that in mind for fieldbus architecture planning. Dimensions are 159 mm deep, 294 mm wide, and 215 mm high, with screw fixing and flexible mounting (vertical, horizontal, or flat). Vibration resistance is 7 mm / 2g, shock resistance 12g / 11 ms — solid for conveyor or pump duty on the factory floor.
Integration and mounting notes
Mounting position is flexible — vertical, horizontal, or flat — with screw fixing to the panel backplate. The main circuit connects via a HAN Q4/2 plug per ISO 23570, so pre-wired harnesses mate directly. The M12 addressing plug for AS-Interface node ID is on the front face, accessible with the enclosure closed. Operating temperature range is -25 to +55 °C; storage and transport range is -40 to +70 °C. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation — no derating needed in typical panel conditions. ON-delay is 85 ms, OFF-delay 65 ms — fast enough for most direct-start applications but not for safety-rated instant-off. The unit supports direct start only (no reversing), so plan a separate reversing contactor if direction change is needed.
