Reversing Starter in an IP65 Enclosure
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RK1395-6KS71-1AD0 is a reversing motor starter rated for 0.75 kW at 400 V AC (2 A) and 0.7 hp at 460/480 V. It is designed for direct-on-line reversing of three-phase motors in applications where space is tight and the environment demands an IP65-rated enclosure — think washdown zones, outdoor conveyor drives, or food-processing lines where dust and hose-directed water are present. The unit accepts a 24 V DC control supply (20.4–28.8 V range) and includes four digital inputs and two digital outputs for integration into a PLC or safety circuit. The main power connection uses a HAN Q4/2 plug per ISO 23570, which simplifies field wiring and reduces panel build time.
Trip-Class Flexibility and Mounting
This starter supports trip classes 5, 10, 15, and 20, letting you match the overload protection to the motor's starting profile — a high-inertia load like a centrifuge needs class 20; a pump can run class 10. The device is screw-fixed to a backplate and can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or flat, though the recommended orientation is horizontal for optimal heat dissipation. The enclosure is rated for shock resistance of 12g at 11 ms and vibration resistance of 7 mm / 2g, so it holds up on mobile equipment or near heavy machinery.
