SIRIUS direct starter for distributed motor control
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RK1395-6KS71-2AD5 is a direct-on-line motor starter in an IP65 housing, rated for 2 A at 400 V AC-3 duty — sufficient for a 0.75 kW motor at 400 V or 0.7 hp at 480 V. The 24 V DC supply (20.4…28.8 V range) powers the coil and onboard logic. The HAN Q4/2 connector (ISO 23570) provides a standardized power interface, simplifying field wiring and replacement.
Trip class flexibility and thermal management
The overload relay supports selectable Trip Classes 5, 10, 15, and 20, covering fast-acting protection for short-time overloads (Class 5) through slower curves for high-inertia loads (Class 20). This flexibility lets the starter match the motor's thermal time constant without swapping hardware. Operating temperature range is -25…+55 °C, with storage/transport tolerance from -40…+70 °C. Shock resistance is 12 g for 11 ms; vibration resistance is 7 mm at 2 g.
I/O and control interface
The starter provides 4 digital inputs and 2 digital outputs for local control and status feedback. ON-delay is 25 ms, OFF-delay 35 ms. No PROFINET, PROFIBUS DP, or AS-Interface protocol is onboard — this is a standalone unit intended for hardwired or remote I/O control via the digital inputs. Mounting is via screw fixing, and the unit can be installed vertically, horizontally, or flat. Horizontal orientation is recommended for optimal heat dissipation. The 294 mm width, 215 mm height, and 148 mm depth define the panel footprint.
